Curatorial Statement | 2222 marks the coordinates which allow us to look into an anthropocentric time. It also describes how day-to-day coincidences are rendered meaningful through contemporary personal experiences. Through spiritual situations corresponding to reality, gradually from the outside in, 2222 transforms the museum space into three sites of exhibition: “Window,” “Living Room,” and “Bedroom.” In addition to adopting the angle of secret signs to explore ideological systems constructed by artists, which resemble exercises to respond to different snippets of reality, the exhibition also serves as an introduction as well as a memo commenting on the symptoms of our time. 1F Window – Co-existence between humanity as a species and the contemporary civilization. 2F Sitting Room – Mapping out forms of intertextuality between secret signs and implication through translating life experiences. 3F Room – Personal experiences as monologues for measuring the everyday day.
